Physiotherapy for runners
Sometimes injuries happen – and they cramp everyone’s style.
I work to find the root cause of a problem – rather than just putting a ‘band-aid’ on things – and create a personalised plan to get you back running as soon as possible.
I have a strong passion for helping runners stay active and out there enjoying their running, pain-free.
Running Assessments
Need some help with your running technique, or not sure if you are running as efficiently as you can?
After running for most of my life and treating clients for over a decade, I have developed a specialised process for conducting thorough, accurate and practical running assessments.
During a running assessment, I will review your running technique and provide specific and actionable feedback for improving your technique and getting the best out of your body.
Each running assessment is 100% personalised to you, your needs and goals (whether they be to run 5km or an ultramarathon!). For some, the assessment and feedback will be focused on technique to improve performance; while for others the focus will be about reducing pain or returning to running after an injury.
What happens in a running assessment?
Running assessments are conducted over one 60 minute session.
I will film you running and then analyse your running technique, provide 1:1 advice, undertake treatment and design a personalised training program. This will include appropriate strengthening and flexibility exercises to improve your technique and help fix any areas that may be contributing to injury within your body.
It’s then over to you to implement the program! Should a follow up be required, we will organise that throughout the session.
Learn to run
Starting to run can be overwhelming, I know. There can be so many things to think about – where to run, how far to run, how fast or slow, how often to run, what shoes to wear, what playlist to choose…
Let me help you get started – because once you get going, you won’t want to stop!
Firstly, head over to my resources page for advice about some of the practical aspects of running.
If you’re in Melbourne or the Mornington Peninsula, join me for running sessions alongside others learning to run. I’ll help teach you how to safely and confidently start a running program – and you’ll get to meet like-minded people to share the journey with.
Run specific strengthening
To make the most of your running – and keep your body in good working order – I highly recommend doing some complementary strength training.
I will work with you to create a program to help you reach (and smash!) your goals. We’ll work with any existing injuries to build a personalised plan specific to your situation and running goals.
